April is a seasoned leadership coach, trainer, and speaker with over 20 years of experience helping people grow through the pivotal moments that shape their careers and lives. From new managers and mid-career professionals to senior executives, she partners with individuals and organizations to navigate leadership transitions, career advancement, high-performance development, and meaningful change.

As a former Director of Career Development and longtime Leadership Coach, April has supported leaders in healthcare, corporate, nonprofit, and academic settings—including Kaiser Permanente, Boeing, ProAg, and multiple universities. Her work is results-driven, blending strategic leadership development, coaching, and training to ensure measurable outcomes and strong ROI.

April holds a Master’s in Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies from the University of Northwestern. She is a Certified Coach (CPCC), a certified MCode & StrengthsFinder Coach, and a lifelong learner in the field of human motivation and leadership.

Driven by a passion for global impact, April is also the founder of Love for Kenya, a nonprofit that partners with Kenyan leaders to serve orphans and widows in their communities.

As a former Silicon Valley corporate attorney and a current CEO, Ann knows people from many dynamics. In 2003, Ann launched MentorLead to bridge the gap between culture and strategy. When mentoring is used as a strategic initiative, clients create an agile workforce that is intentionally driving the organization's critical goals and objectives... leadership regardless of title.

MentorLead's programs are loved by clients such as Kaiser Permanente, Stanford, and Cedars Sinai. Ann has been honored as an Outstanding Business Woman of the Year by ABWA and with the Vanguard Award from The McGraw-Hill Companies.

Ann has been influencing audiences from the stage and in her books for over 15 years. She is the author of Ambition on a Mission (2007), Moxie for Managers (2011), Why Mentoring Matters (2013), and In a Flash! (2018).

When not on a stage, Ann is on her bicycle. In 2011, Ann cycled 4,200 miles from San Francisco to San Diego; in 2012 she cycled 2,600 miles from Key West, Florida, to Bar Harbor, Maine; in 2014 she cycled 1,600 miles from Seattle to San Diego; in 2016 she cycled from Crater Lake to Yosemite; and in 2018 she cycled from Banff to Yellowstone.
